lamb's arcade wiki ππ
personal knowledge base for the three rhythm games i actually put coins into: maimai DX, CHUNITHM, and SOUND VOLTEX. half reference, half brain dump, half shitpost. yes that's three halves. it's a rhythm game wiki, we count weird here.
everything in here is written for me first. if you're reading this and you're not me: hi, wear gloves, don't hog the cab.
The games
- maimai DX: touch zones, judgement & scoring internalsthe washing machine. eight buttons around a round touchscreen, two players, infinite slides. this page is about how the thing actually works: where the sensors are, how notes get judged, and how your achievement % is computed down to the 4th decimal.
- CHUNITHM: slider, air sensors & rating maththe one where you rub a glowing table and wave at the sky. this page covers the input hardware, note types, judgement, scoring, and rating.
- SOUND VOLTEX: knobs, gauges & volforcekonami's knob game. 4 buttons, 2 FX, 2 lasers, one very loud cab. notes on input, gauges, scoring, and volforce.
- rating math cheat sheetone page, three games. for the "what do i need on this chart" question at the cab. full explanations live in each game's page.
Hardware
- my controllersthe home practice fleet. none of these replace the real cab (nothing does, the cab is the cab) but they keep my hands warm between arcade trips and let me grind reading on charts i'd be embarrassed to fail in public.
- IO protocols & cab internalswhat the cabs actually say over the wire. mostly so my home controllers can talk the same language, partly because i can't look at a serial port without wanting to sniff it.
- gloves, sleeves & hand careyour hands are the controller. treat them like one.
The scene
- sites i usethe bookmarks bar, explained. grouped by what i actually use them for.
- cards, accounts & networksthe "why does my card work here but not there" page.
- my arcadesthe spots, ranked. everything here is my own opinion on a given day. names are my nicknames for places, not their real names, because i don't want this wiki to become a review site.
- cab etiquettedon't be that guy. this is the stuff every regular knows and nobody writes down.
Practice
Misc
- glossaryevery acronym you'll ever see screamed at a results screen.
- kirokuθ¨ι², "record." the score tracker i'm building, because every existing option needs a paid net subscription, a bookmarklet, or patience i don't have at 11pm in a loud arcade.
- about me (as a player)the player profile. settings, history, mains, and opinions nobody asked for. all numbers are placeholders, update with the real ones.
conventions
- difficulty names are written the way the game writes them:
MASTER,Re:MASTER,ULTIMA,EXH,MXM - chart refs look like
song [diff level], e.g.PANDORA PARADOXXX [Re:MAS 15] cc= chart constant (internal level),pb= personal best- anything marked Verify is from memory or community docs and should be double-checked before i build code on top of it
