cab etiquette
don't be that guy. this is the stuff every regular knows and nobody writes down.
queues#
- know the queue system. some places use coins on the cab, some use a list, some use "stand behind the person." look before you jump in
- credit limits: if there's a queue, play one credit and go back in line. don't "just one more" when people are waiting
- the coin queue: putting your card or a coin on the cab ledge = you're next. don't move someone else's
- if nobody's waiting, play as long as you want. that's the whole point of weekday afternoons
playing#
- wipe the screen before and after on maimai and chuni. carry a microfiber cloth
- sanitizer before you touch the cab if you just ate. greasy screen = misses for everyone
- no slamming. the buttons and knobs are expensive and arcades don't replace them often. sdvx slams are fine, punching the cab isn't
- don't lean on the cab or put drinks on it
- headphones: bring your own if the cab has a jack. turn the cab volume down after if you turned it up
2P#
- maimai and chuni can be 2P. if someone asks to join, say yes unless you're doing something weird (like a score attack)
- don't join a stranger's credit without asking
- if you're joining, pick a song you both can play, or just pick their song
spectating#
- watching is fine and normal
- filming: ask before filming someone else. filming your own hands is fine
- don't backseat. if someone asks for tips, give them. otherwise, shut up
the broken cab#
- if a cab is broken (dead button, ghost touches, no sound), tell the staff, don't just switch cabs
- write it in the ZIv comments too, so people know
my personal rules#
- wear gloves on maimai and chuni
- wipe the screen
- one credit if there's a queue
- help newbies if they ask
- never be the reason someone has a bad time at the arcade
